Leading by Nature
Leadership is never easy and some leaders enter into it hesitant and apprehensive, while others jump right in without a care! Neither is a predictor of success. This micro-learning module explores the ways in which animals can teach us a lot about leadership. It also provides us with valuable leadership principles and a simple model we can adopt and adapt in order to engage our teams, foster greater employee satisfaction, and create a team that will endure and grow from the inevitable challenges that teams face.

Neli Gontier
Manager, Talent & Learning @NVA Canada
As NVA Canada’s Manager, Talent & Learning, Neli Gontier is ready and eager to support our community in the areas of professional development, performance, succession planning, mentoring, engagement and inclusion. For over two decades, she has been – and still is – a regulated health professional, educator, certified training facilitator, key opinion leader and guest speaker for her sector. She has managed large clinical teams, as well as a corporate audits department in the insurance industry. She has developed in-person and online learning, trained thousands of staff for her corporate clients, and written several books on neurological diseases, accessibility and caregiving for the Parkinson’s community. She strives to continue her servant leadership here at NVA Canada. As a life-long learner who has stepped “out of the box” several times, her hope is to inspire the desire to learn more in others.
